Our journey in one spirit with God

Our Pastor’s testimony:

In 2014, Bernard, a dedicated machinist and Associate Preacher, faced a critical moment in his life. His mother, residing in California, USA, was battling Complicated Pneumonia, demanding his immediate attention. Bernard made the selfless decision to fly to her side and remained with her for three months. Although he returned to Canada in 2015, his mother’s health continued to decline, compelling him to return to the U.S. for an additional nine months. Unfortunately, this led to an indefinite leave of absence from his job and eventually, in 2016, Bernard had to resign as his employer could no longer hold his position.

Amidst the hardships, Bernard’s unwavering trust and faith in the Lord sustained him. He diligently communed with God daily, seeking healing for his mother and guidance for his own life. Despite the loss of his job, his mother’s deteriorating condition, separation from his family in Canada, and an uncertain future, Bernard discovered that God had a remarkable plan for his life. Let us now delve into Bernard’s powerful testimony of how God called him into the ministry.

Bernard shares, “Every day, I rise early in the morning to read and meditate upon the word of God. One day, while deeply immersed in prayer, I heard a gentle voice urging me to open my Bible to the book of 2 Samuel, Chapter 7, verses 1-27. These verses held God’s promise to King David, and as I delved into the scripture, I felt as if God Himself was speaking directly to me. His words resounded powerfully within my heart and soul, especially in Verse 5, where He instructed me to build a house for His dwelling, reminiscent of Prophet Nathan speaking to King David. As I continued reading from verse 6 to 11, God spoke to me again in verse 8, proclaiming that He had taken me from tending flocks in the pasture to become a ruler over His people. Verse 9 assured me of His abiding presence, vowing to eliminate all my enemies. He even declared that He would bestow greatness upon my name, comparable to the most renowned figures on Earth. The impact of these words from God overwhelmed me, and tears of awe flowed uncontrollably. I felt inadequate to serve Him and questioned why He chose me. However, an unwavering conviction and undeniable power resonated within His words. He declared that He Himself would establish a house for me, as stated in verse 16: ‘Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever.’ Such an invincible and resolute word from God could not be rejected. I asked Him, ‘What do You want me to do?’ In response, I heard a soft voice whisper in my ear, ‘Go back to Canada and build My Church.'”

In 2017, I faithfully obeyed and followed God’s command. I decided to apply and submit all my credentials, including my certificate of experience, to the churches I had previously attended. Additionally, I sought the position of Church Planter in the PAOC. Nervousness gripped me at the time, doubting whether my credentials and experience would be sufficient for qualification. However, I placed my trust and faith in the Lord, firmly believing that He would approve my application. The PAOC meticulously evaluated and reviewed all my credentials, leading to an interview with five Pastors from the organization. During the interview, they assessed my understanding of the Holy Spirit’s doctrine, questioned my beliefs and statement of faith, and delved into various aspects of the four Gospels. After the interview, I patiently awaited a response from the PAOC for one month. As I began reading the letter, I was overjoyed to discover that I had successfully passed the interview. The PAOC extended their congratulations, and I exultantly thanked God for answering my prayers. Filled with excitement, I promptly submitted all my credentials and fulfilled the CRA’s requirements for church operation approval. After a few months, the CRA issued a Business license number, and Jesus Lighthouse Church officially became a Registered Charity. Once again, this stood as a testament to God’s response to my fervent prayers and petitions. Therefore, I continuously express my gratitude to the Almighty for His unending goodness and faithfulness.

In 2018, Jesus Lighthouse Church came into existence. We inaugurated our first service at Revival Pioneers Church, located at 10029 Whalley Blvd, Surrey BC V3T4G1. The service witnessed the presence of 32 people. After a few months, we decided to move to Unit 206, 10105 King George Blvd, adjacent to Staples.
